Hello and welcome!
My name is Ariana Michell Ramos Rocha, and I am a professional Spanish Teacher. I received my teaching degree from the University of Guanajuato and have had continuing studies with Edinumen Publishing House. I have also attended various conferences for Spanish teachers around the world including one for Spanish teachers specifically in Oporto Portugal where I presented a research paper, and have additionally been published in “Academia Journals”. I have taught at the University of Guananjuato, but now I choose to work as a personal tutor to individual students looking to learn Spanish.
What sets me apart is that I craft each lesson to a students specific needs as they progress. While learning a new language can be difficult, I work hard to make my classes fun. Grammar and vocabulary are always at the heart of learning a language, but I also take special care to see that a student is growing their conversational skills, that is, their ability to speak and to understand the language as it is spoken.
Private classes versus attending a school with other students
The advantage to taking classes in a school with other students is that this gives you the opportunity to meet others with whom you may form friendships outside the classroom; someone to meet up with for coffee or a meal, a source of local knowledge like where to catch a film or a band, perhaps a restaurant recommendation. The disadvantage is that the makeup of classes is constantly changing as people come for differing lengths of time. Inevitably this means that sometimes you will be taught material that you already know, and at other times you will find yourself struggling to keep up with material that is more advanced than your current level. Private classes won’t create social opportunities for you, but the classes will move you more quickly to the goal of mastering the language.
